There is a way—not crafted by tradition or shaped by passing trends, but revealed in the Holy Scriptures. It is the way Yeshua taught, the way the apostles walked, the way described throughout the Bible as the Way—a path shaped by faith, restoration, and confident expectation. Here, life is rooted in Scripture, illuminated by Context, sustained in Covenant, and lived out in Practice. This is both the way of life for today and the way to life everlasting.
“But this I confess to you, that according to the Way, which they call a sect, I worship the God of our fathers, believing everything laid down by the Law and written in the Prophets, having a hope in God, which these men themselves accept, that there will be a resurrection of both the just and the unjust.”
—Acts 24:14–15 (ESV)
Scripture
At Followers of the Way, we believe the Scriptures—as originally given by Yahweh (God) to humanity—are the inspired, inerrant, trustworthy, and living words of Yahweh. Our foundation is not tradition or denomination, but the whole of Scripture that reveals Yahweh’s nature, will, and redemptive purpose. We also affirm that truly understanding and interpreting Scripture requires the guidance of the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit), who leads us into all truth (John 16:13).
We use the names Yahweh, Yeshua, and Ruach HaKodesh to honor the original Hebrew roots of our faith. Yahweh is God’s personal name in Scripture, often rendered as “the LORD.” Yeshua is the Messiah’s Hebrew name, meaning “Yahweh saves,” while “Jesus” is an English transliteration that evolved from the original through Greek and Latin. Ruach HaKodesh is the Hebrew term for the Holy Spirit, the breath and presence of God at work among us.
Context
Much of Scripture’s depth, language, and intent can be lost through centuries of translation and distance from its original culture. Yeshua and the apostles lived, taught, and prayed in Hebrew and Aramaic, grounded in a Hebraic worldview. We are committed to restoring this context—exploring the Jewish roots, language, and culture that bring the Bible to life, and reading the Scriptures as their first hearers would have understood them. By honoring the original context, we let the Word speak with its intended power and purpose.
Covenant
Faith is not just a set of beliefs, but a living relationship—a covenant. The earliest disciples were called followers of the Way (Acts 9:2), walking together in trust, obedience, and covenant community. Yeshua called His disciples to a narrow path—one that is often countercultural, costly, and rooted in true devotion (Matthew 7:13-14). At the heart of our walk is the New Covenant: “This is the covenant I will make… I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they shall be my people.” (Jeremiah 31:31-34; Hebrews 8:6-13; Luke 22:20). Sealed in Yeshua’s blood, this covenant calls us to embody His teaching, love God and neighbor, and live as the ekklesia—a people set apart by grace and truth (Hebrews 10:15-25).
We use the word ekklesia—the original Greek for “church”—to highlight its true meaning: a “called-out” community devoted to following Yeshua. In Scripture, this echoes the Hebrew qahal (assembly), not an institution or building, but a people gathered by Yahweh in covenant.
